		<description>Kristal, various people (not me) have sighted about 7 bears here in Crested Butte!  One of my friends gets a regular visit each evening and she has replaced her &quot;bear-resistant&quot; trash can 3 times now!  Fortunately the bears seem content to tackle the outside elements and not try to visit the family indoors.  Incidentally, the DOW did capture the largest of the bears last week.  It weighed in at over 500 lbs!  
Like you, I am not eager to run into a bear on the street or on my porch.  They are only cute when they are named &quot;Teddy&quot; and are much, much smaller than I am!</description>
