It is official, after months of anticipation and working out kinks, the National Democratic Convention will be hosted by Denver this August 2007.
The event is expected to bring 40,000 visitors to the Colorado Capitol with an economic windfall of $150-200 million dollars. Most of the events will be held in the Pepsi Center with others in the newly expanded Colorado Convention Center.
The last time the Convention was held in Denver was 99 years ago in 1900! At that time the attendees were treated to a snowball fight in the streets of Denver. Judging by the snowfall we have had so far…maybe the snow won’t have to be imported! (just kidding folks!)

I’ll keep my political leanings to myself and just say this is a big win for Denver.
Nice pics of the Albuquerque Balloon Fiesta! I lived in Ablq in the late ’80s. It’s quite the site to see (and about the city’s only redeeming value, IMHO. No offense intended to any Albuquerqueans)
