Half the coins in the country are made right here in Denver. This facility is the next largest, right after Fort Knox! Located south of downtown Denver on West Colfax at Cherokee St.
LoDo Guided Walking Tour
This enjoyable tour relates the history of Denver as the rail road arrived until the current urban renaissance. The tour meets on Saturdays from May through October. It’s worth the time.
Denver Bronco Stadium
Invesco Field at Mile High offers tours of this amazing facility. It’s underground is large enough to drive in bus loads of football players and 18-wheelers with beer. The tour will show off the locker rooms, field, Budweiser Champions club and the Denver Bronco’s Team Store. The amazing feature is the convenient way the beer is sent through a pipeline to the vendor stations.
Coors Field home of the Colorado Rockies
It’s the ball park that revived LoDo! When this facility was built it was followed by a renaissance of the lower downtown. An area that was once Denver’s skid row, it is now among the most expensive real estate in the metro area if not the state. The stadium itself is beautiful and looks as though it has been there forever.
Coors Brewery
Golden to the west of Denver is the home of Adolph Coor’s famous brewery. Tours of this brewery are informative, relating the process of making the brew from growing it on special farms to the grand finale, a test in the pub. Don’t worry if your not a beer drinker, other refreshments are available.
