Needs Assessment

After living in a home you get to know what you want. Our lifestyle is pretty casual, we mix work and home. To date our entertaining has been mostly with family, but we would like to expand that.

So, our dream home would have a great room, large kitchen with plenty of space for entertaining. We want a formal dining area and a spacious den on the main level so I can work. Since I tend to work late at night, the den should be close enough to the great room so Larry and I can talk.

Larry wants a place to build a model train layout. An unfinished room in the basement would work.

The setting of the property is important. My preference is to have a place where I can walk outside onto the lawn or a nice patio, without having to climb downstairs. This is at odds with the vision of having a walkout basement. This type of elevation is hard to come by.
