This sure are what is happening in Colorado but I guess anywhere we go there is a natural disaster wither we like it or not. It just happens so we really need to be equipped.

Well I’m in New Zealand, and things are just going crazy here! In the space of a few days we’ve had another large earthquake, floods, a huge landslide. Oh and a tornado or two. We never get tornadoes here, and we’ve had two in urban areas in a month. (Nothing like the ones that have happened in the States though)

It does really make you wonder! At least we don’t have snakes like you Aussies or Bears like in the US! Actually that’s one good thing about New Zealand… very few dangerous animals.

It’s just the Earth that we have to watch out for. Hopefully it will stop moving underneath us soon!

Robert, I am very familiar with the snakes of Australia. Once while camping there a friendly Aussie showed me a snake and explained how they are everywhere. I had trouble sleeping that night because I thought they were under my tent! Silly me, I don’t much like snakes.

I found your post when I was looking for natural disasters around the world. We have just had a range of these in Australia -from bush fires to floods and tornados all in the same season. It shows that you have to be prepared – as you point out – for most things because it does happen.

The range of events in Denver, is similar except we don’t have the bears! Just snakes.

The bottom line is there are always going to be"natural disasters" that we have absolutely no control of. Just because earthquakes don't really occur in New York City doesn't mean that they want eventually happen.

A lot of good, practical advice. We too often have the attitude that “it will never happen to me”. Sooner or later “it” will happen to each of us in one way or another. It never hurts to be prepared.
