The well known mountain community of Evergreen was first settled in the 1860’s. A popular tourist and summer retreat for the first half of the 20th century, access to I-70 has made the area an easy commute to the metro area. In the 90’s property values have risen with the advent of large, mountain design homes nestled on large pine covered lots. With Jefferson County Schools, convenient shopping and services, and the major attraction of living in the mountains of Colorado have combined to make Evergreen a very desirable place to enjoy the Colorado lifestyle.

Evergreen encompasses a large geographical area. A closer in area known as Bergen Park is directly off Interstate 70. The next neighborhood is the Hiwan County Club. Either of these areas are easily within a 30 minute commute to downtown Denver.

As you travel further towards Evergreen the commute is extended. Most residents agree it doesn’t take very long to get to Denver, it really depends on how far off the main road you must travel.

Evergreen neighborhoods reflect it’s roots as a summer home community. Driving up Bear Creek Road past Evergreen Lake one can find stately summer homes along the creek. Dotted along the mountainside, tucked away in the trees there are clusters of brand new homes. Some are in covenant controlled communities, some are not. Mountain neighborhoods can be very eclectic.
