Cripple Creek, Black Hawk and Central City were at one time famous for the gold and silver mined in the hills surrounding them. As times changed, mining became less and less profitable and the towns declined. Late in the 1990’s the state allowed these three towns to institute limited stakes gambling, in an effort to help the economy.

It worked, now instead of mining from the earth, they mine the coins from our pockets! Motivated by the excitement of fame and fortune, we all rush to take a chance. It’s a modern gold rush and great fun!
