Skiing comes in other forms than just downhill…
Colorado is known best for the outdoors, the awesome scenery that will bring you to your knees any day of the year. Skiing is the best in the world, my favorite
type of skiing was once downhill, I couldn’t get enough of it, but these days I prefer cross country or Nordic skiing. Nordic skiing gets one so much closer to nature, the pace can be fast or slow, but it’s always exhilarating.
There are numerous places to enjoy Nordic skiing in Colorado, my favorite is Devil’s Thumb in Winter Park, it’s only 67 miles from Denver, accessible via the Ski Train (Denver to Winter Park), after a morning of skiing it’s wonderful to stop and enjoy a GOOD meal in the Ranch House Restaurant. The food is far from the normal fare you might expect to find at a ski area, actually it’s the best place to eat in Winter Park!
