Parker began in 1860 as a stage stop. Named appropriately the “Twenty Mile House”. It is twenty miles from there to the next stage stop now know as Colfax and Colorado Blvd. in Denver. The Twenty Mile House eventually was owned by James Sample Parker, show gave his name to the now bustling town.

These days, Denver is too crowed for some people, so they are moving out to the suburbs. Parker has become a popular destination for these folks who want “elbow space”.

Main Street in Parker has old time charm, flanked by modern convenience. New housing developments are planned to take advantage of open spaces and walking trails.
