Knowing the value of your home is always important. It becomes even more important when you decide to sell.
There are several "free" services on the web (see Zillow) that provide sold prices, but one must use caution when using these values to determine a value for your home.
Values must always take in to consideration both history and current market. Additionally locations and condition of improvements are strong factors. So if the house next door is exactly like yours its reasonable to expect your value is similar.
