Knowing the location of your forced air furnace filter is important. Once you know where it is, there are usually clues, like arrows indicating the direction unprocessed air should travel enroute to the heat exchanger. Replacing the filter frequently and correctly is important in order for your home to receive the maximum benefit and efficiency.
While completing this task, remember to inspect the furnace system ductwork for gaps. It is important to prevent unfiltered air from penetrating the system. If gaps are found they can be sealed with metal foil tape.
