Just a short drive in the high plains of Colorado is all it takes to see how popular wind turbines have become! I so enjoy seeing them and knowing they are making nice clean energy for use in our state.
As frequently as I see the Wind turbines, I can't say I've ever given any thought to how they arrived. Today I got a clue. We are up and about very early when we noticed a train (at least a mile long) hauling turbine parts.
Let me say, this is not an ordinary sight! Each blade took up the length of TWO flatbeds. They were firmly attached on the front end, with a guide in the rear to let them float.
There was blade after blade being transported, stretching as far as one could see!
